The San Francisco 49ers announced on Saturday that they’ve activated linebacker Aldon Smith and have placed safety Jimmie Ward on injured reserve after suffering a foot injury last week.
While it’s great that Smith is back, the Niners just can’t seem to catch a break on defense.
Ward is just another starter now added to injured reserve. Linebacker Patrick Willis was also recently placed IR.
