Before last week’s NFL Championship game, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith met with 49ers’ great Charles Haley, who ended up giving him some tips.
“He gave me tips in our first five seconds of talking,” Smith told CSNBayArea.com on Wednesday. “It was legit. He said, ‘You need to turn your foot like this and start rushing like that.’ And I was like, ‘All right.’ ”
Smith says he did some of the things Haley suggested.
“I did the tips,” Smith said of Haley’s suggestions. “They worked and helped out a little bit. I was in there.”
We’ll see if Smith can step his game up in next week’s Super Bowl.
