President Barack Obama voiced his concerns about head injuries in football during an interview with The Republic that will be released in February. He also said that if he had a son, he’s not sure he would allow him to play football.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was asked about President Obama’s comments today.
“It’s not like we signed up and thought we were going to play tennis,” said Smith, per the New York Daily News.
Well that’s certainly one way to put it.
I do agree with Obama. I believe head injuries in football are concerning. I have a five year-old son and plan on waiting until he’s in high school to play tackle football.
I agree with Smith. NFL players are grown men that have made a decision that they’ll have to live with forever.
