San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks had an outstanding season in 2011, but the bad news is that the 49ers might be able to afford to re-sign him. They’ll be forced to focus their attention on getting Alex Smith, Carlos Rogers, and Dashon Goldson all under contract for 2012.
After a stellar rookie season by Aldon Smith, in which he racked up 14 sacks, he shouldn’t have a problem replacing Brooks, if he does end up leaving in free agency.
