According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers are no longer counting on linebacker Aldon Smith returning to the field this season after checking into a rehab facility for alcohol abuse a couple of weeks ago.
With Aldon Smith in rehab and facing felony charges of possession of assault weapons, 49ers are not counting on him returning this year.

Smith is also now facing three felony weapons charges stemming from a shooting that occurred at his home during a 2012 house party.
The best thing for Smith is to clean himself up and take care of his off the field issues and then hopefully come back next season.
